Something Stranger This Way Comes…
A few months ago, something absurd happened—or at least, someone thought something absurd had happened.
My neighbor stopped me on my way out to say, “While you were gone, I swear I saw a tent in your living room.”
I blinked. A tent? In my living room?
She said she saw the shape—blue and brown fabric—lit oddly from within, as if there was something inside. The way the light hit, she couldn’t look away.
But here’s the thing: when I’d arrived home from my trip, there was no tent. No echo, no canvas scraps, no suspension of disbelief beyond hers. Just my quiet apartment, my nervous cat, and me scratching my head.
Struck by the strangeness of the tale, I turned to Reddit. Turns out there are folks out there were just as invested in the mystery of the tent. They pondered the options. Did something supernatural happen? Was it a misremembered dream? A visual glitch? A trick of the dusk light? Was my neighbor delusional, dementia’d, or deranged? The post went viral, with almost 2 million views and thousands of comments.
I don’t know why the story resonated, but there was no denying that the “Tent in My Living Room” saga tapped into the hive-mind curiosity—but why?
Because sometimes, stories—real or imagined—open the door to bigger truths. Sometimes they force us to ask: What do we see when no one else is looking? What do we believe when we want to believe?
Why I’m Telling You This
That tent story became one of the seeds of SeaWrite Studio.
SeaWrite Studio isn’t just a vault of prompts and templates. It’s a space—for thinking, for writing, for making sense of the blurry places between what’s real and what’s imagined. A quiet room where the strange is welcome, and clarity shows up in unexpected ways.
What SeaWrite Studio Is
If you decide to join, here’s what I’ll share—steeped in strategy, creativity, and yes, maybe a tent metaphor or two:

- Templates, frameworks & tactical content strategy guidance so your content works for you.
- Honest conversations about being creative, being visible, and being okay with mystery.
- Behind-the-scenes stories from someone who builds metaphorical tents—not because life is tidy, but because sometimes seeing differently matters.
